I have known Elena and her family for many years, so I was absolutely honored when she asked me to photograph her wedding! I love all of my couples dearly, but when I get to photograph a friend’s wedding, it’s extra special to me. You might remember seeing Elena & Billy’s engagement session on the blog last November, if not you can check it out here 😉 They almost didn’t want to do engagement photos, but I am SO glad they did because the photos are some of my favorites (even in the rain)! I mean, they literally looked like royalty. It’s always a little nerve-wrecking being in front of the camera, so an engagement session is a great way to get over a little bit of that fear and get comfortable in front the camera.
Their wedding was on the first day of fall and it was just perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, and beautiful for photos. Elena and Billy had a beautiful ceremony at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Saint Clair Shores and their reception followed in the hall at the church. There were SO many little details that we thought out and everything looked stunning. Both Billy and Elena’s mothers completely transformed the hall into something straight out of a fairy tale.
Before heading into the reception, we went over to the Country Club of Detroit in Grosse Pointe for a few photos. What a beautiful backdrop for photos! And even better, the sun was starting to set and gave us some dreamy glowy light. We couldn’t have asked for a better day!
Elena and Billy, I hope you are having the time of your lives in Greece right now (I’m super jealous!), and I hope you love this extended sneak peek of your wedding day. I can’t wait for you to see the full gallery!
