MEET Erika

Tina and Steve’s wedding at Waterview Loft at Port Detroit was one for the books. Tina and I have been friends since we were kids, and she married her soulmate on my birthday! Not only did they get married on my birthday, but they also were married at the same church that Michael and I will be getting married at in just a few weeks! Honestly, I enjoyed every minute of the day and am so honored that they chose me to capture their day.

Planning my own wedding with my girlfriends who also got married this year has been so much fun. I thought I knew every in and out of the wedding day, but planning my own has really opened my eyes even more! In the best way possible, of course.

Tina and Steve were married in the chapel at The Grosse Pointe Academy on a perfect Summer day. The church was so full that there was not an empty seat in the house! That says a lot about a couple and really shows how much they are loved and supported by their family and friends.

After the ceremony, we headed to Waterview Loft at Port Detroit. This was another new venue for me, and it was absolutely incredible! It has such a beautiful view of the Detroit river and is stunning on a summer evening at sunset. You might recall some of Tina and Steve’s engagement session that we shot near by last fall.

It wouldn’t be a wedding without a few tears of joy. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tearing up behind my camera. Speeches and dances always get me teary eyed, but it hits a little closer to home when it’s a childhood friend.

Mr. & Mrs. South, I am beyond happy that you have found each other. Tina, I truthfully couldn’t picture anyone more perfect for you than Steve. I cannot wait to dance the night away with you two again at my own wedding soon! I can’t thank you enough for letting me be a part of your day and I hope you love the photos for years to come.
